Q: What is paracord?
A: Parachute cord (also paracord or 550 cord when referring to type-III paracord) is a lightweight nylon cord originally used in the suspension lines of parachutes. This cord is useful for many other tasks and is now used as a general purpose utility cord by both military personnel and civilians.
The braided sheath has a high number of interwoven strands for its size, giving it a relatively smooth texture. The all-nylon construction makes paracord fairly elastic, but should never be used for climbing. Type III, a type commonly found in use, is nominally rated with a minimum breaking strength of 550 pounds, thus the nickname "550 cord". It has seven inner nylon strands which can be removed for a number of survival purposes. Untie a paracord bracelet and you have aproximately 5 meters of strong rope which you can use to replace a tent string, a broken shoelace or tie things together at a camping trip.
Paracord is resistant to mold and mildew and does not rot, hence you can wash it with sope and clean water and leave it to dry. Colors might fade with time and use.
Q: SHIPPING: How does it work and what does the options mean?
A: KRUGER EveryDay Carry is an internet-based company, registered in Sweden but we are right now located in Guatemala. We have had to be creative to speed up delivery whilst maintaining costs reasonable. We therefore ship by DHL to a collection point in the US, where a representative is distributing individual orders using domestic post (USPS). In Europe we use a similar system, but the orders then ship out from Sweden through domestic/national services. Since we always send using tracking number, you will most likely have to sign for your package when it arrives, or pick it up from a service point. We do this to ensure our orders arrive safely and are not robbed if left outside a door. If an order is not picked within your country's set time limit it may be sent back to us, so please make sure to keep track of your delivery using the tracking number. You will get an online link for tracking your order with the email sent when the order is shipped. Please note that we are not responsible for delays caused by the involved postal services since it is outside of our control. An order shipped from the US usually arrives 4-7 working days, and in Europe 7-12 days depending on country of residence. From our own experience we know that especially shipments to Latin America and Canada tend to delay more than others. Taxes, custom fees and other costs might be added by the authorities in your country. This is the recipient's responsibility.
NORMAL SHIPPING is the cheapest, but it means your order will wait until we have enough orders ready (8-10 orders) to fill the DHL package. If you chose the option 'DHL EXPRESS SHARED DELIVERY' it means your order will be prioritized and shipped once we have only three orders with that option that can ship together and therefore share the cost of the DHL package to the US or Europe. If you chose to pay for 'DHL EXPRESS INDIVIDUAL' your order will be prioritized and ship straight to your door with DHL, bypassing domestic postal services. This only takes three working days shipping time.
Q: How long time will it take to get my order?
A: KRUGER EveryDay Carry is a two-person enterprise, and most of the items we sell are handmade by us personally, one by one in the order we receive requests. We never ship anything we are not satisfied with or wouldn't carry ourselves. We are proud of that, but it also means our capacity can be stretched at times and orders might take time to produce. Still, we usually manage to produce your items and ship within two weeks from the order is placed in our system.
We can never guarantee a specific delivery date, especially not under the current pandemic situation. Different customs rules around the world also sometimes create delays so delivery times are estimates. If you want a faster service we recommend to pay extra for DHL EXPRESS or the option of DHL EXPRESS SHARED DELIVERY.
Once the order is shipped, you will get emails from us updating you with your tracking number so you can follow it to your door or post box. Please note that it is not us who update the tracking system, but the postal service companies. Usually an order shows up in the domestic postal tracking system only once it has arrived to the country in question.
Q: If I don’t like what I ordered, can I get my money back?
A: We will always do all we can to get a customer satisfied. Custom made products where the client has chosen colors, extras and specific size can unfortunately not be refunded since they can not be sold to another client, but if sent back to us we will try to find a replacement. Only shipping costs and any price difference between the old and new product will be charged.
Any other order will be fully refunded (except shipping costs) if returned to us in unused condition.
Q: Can I make changes to the designs I find in your product listings on the webpage?
A: Yes! We love custom designs!
It is impossible for us to display all the variants of our Products. We want them to be unique and special for you, so if you want to change colors, decorations, beads or buckles, just let us know. Smaller changes like colors, buckles etc you can just let us know by writing in the comment and wrist-size box at your shopping cart. If you want to change an entire design, let us know through firstname.lastname@example.org and we will sort it out for you.
Please note that price might increase if your changes to the design mean use of additional material or time as compared to the original version.
Q: How do I know I get the right size on a bracelet?
A: THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. All bracelets are custom made, so we need to know your specific wrist size. At the bottom of our frontpage, as well in the confirmation email of your order are instructions and a photo of how to correctly measure your wrist. The measurement should be exact - we will adjust for comfort. You can tell us your measurement at the shopping cart page, where you also can put other comments. If you are unsure then chose a bracelet with adjustable clasp.
If we don't receive your wristsize we will try to reach you through the contacts you have provided, so please keep an eye on your email.
Q: How do you price your bracelets and products?
A: Handmade items means it's produced by love! With love comes uniqueness and quality and a pricing model different then mass produced items. Our pricing is based on the material used + time for production + taxes + our % of gains. Since our paracord and many brass items are handmade, the more complicated the design, the longer time it takes to make. For example, a 'Conquistador' bracelet takes almost two hours for an experienced paracorder to produce. The special beads we use are of highest quality, handmade by ourselves or imported directly from the makers. Imagine the adjustable brass clasp of ours is actually three separate pieces, and each one needs a mold, casting, then to be hammered, drilled and finally polished or oxidized...
When you now know how much love, effort, time and trial and error that goes into each of our unique products you can compare our prices to for example mass produced silver jewelry, and you will find our pricing is competitive for the products we offer.
Q: Why are you called KRUGER EDC but your logo sometimes say TRAVELBAN?
A: Our brand was first called TRAVELBAN for reasons you can find in the "Our Story"-section, but we changed to KRUGER EDC when it was registered, copyrighted and trademarked. We have kept TRAVELBAN as a sub-brand for some of our products such as the leathergoods and survival Products.
Q: I want to buy paracord material and beads to make my own products. Do you sell that?
A: Apart from beads and clasps we do not sell material or paracord. But we do not exclude it in the future. We sometimes do limited runs of custom paracording jigs or marlin spikes, but they tend to sell out quickly.
Q: Where can I learn to make my own bracelets?
A: The University of YouTube is an excellent resource for Learning how to make paracord bracelets and other items. Some of our favorite weavers on YouTube and Instagram are "Weavers of Eternity" and "Paracord Guild".
Q: My bead is loosing its polished shine, what's happening?
A: We use a few different materials in our products, and they respond differently to wear and tear. We try to be transparent in the descriptions of which materials are used, so please read them before ordering. In short, the following applies:
-Paracord: We use American made paracord from Atwood Rope or Paracord.eu. It is the highest quality commercial paracord on the market. Still, it will tighten or loosen a bit depending on knotting and use. Also, with time, colors will fade slightly
-Brass and copper beads: Brass and copper looses shine with age, but can easily be polished back to its original look. Check the internet on how to restore shine to brass and it will last a lifetime. Many consider the change of color and the development of a patina as an additional value and proof of its uniqueness.
The rhinos, wolves, king of the dead and other highest quality beads are plated using electroplating and coated which means the color will not wear off or loose shine.
-Stainless steel: Some of our clasps and beads are stainless steel. This is a very durable material which stands the test of time
-Colored metal: Only our black shackle is colored rather than plated. It is stainless steel covered with black pain using a special process to make the color last longer. Still, the color can be damaged by scraping agains walls or throwing it in your bag together with keys or other metal objects.
